A Walk in the Park

Hi everyone, I hope you're enjoying the change in seasons, wherever you are. It's been raining nonstop here. This was the calm before the storm as I went for a walk in a local park today. The sky was cloudy but this beautiful park was bursting with colors. The azaleas were gorgeous. The park also has a conservatory, featuring a rainforest full of pretty blooms (see the collage for hibiscus in a variety of colors). What a great stroll, and I made it home before it started raining again. Enjoy! xo

Spring is here!

After a very long winter, we are finally seeing signs of Spring! The forsythia is in bloom in my yard. I love the way the bright yellow blooms are in contrast with the still bare trees. The sky is beautifully blue at a nearby lake and the trees are budding there. Finally, I wanted to share photos of our family's golden retriever, so happy outdoors in the sun. And our adorable kitten is now 10 months old, nice and cozy lying on a little blanket I crocheted for her. Hope you enjoy these cheerful photos! xo

A Splash of Color

It's amazing how some jelly beans, chocolates, and colored eggs can bring a splash of color into an otherwise still white Spring. Yes, it's about to snow on Easter day, but we made the best of it, spending it with family. Hope the Holy Week brought you peace, love, and serenity. xo

Orchid Beauties

Hi everyone! It's been a while but I'm back with the promise of Spring. We have had a very cold and long winter with lots of severe storms. There is still snow on the ground as I write. So today I decided to escape to the tropics! Well, I didn't exactly go away too far, but to a beautiful orchid show in a conservatory at a local park. Each orchid was so unique in color, shape, and texture. You really need to look up close to appreciate the gorgeous subtleties. And the tropical environment was so lush and warm. A mini vacation for me and I felt so relaxed afterwards. I hope you enjoyed the orchid show and I'll see you soon when the rest of the snow melts and I'm out for more nature adventures! xo

A New York City Holiday

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season! As it's been tradition on my blog, I'm taking you for yet another tour around New York City for the holidays! Here is the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center above the ice skating ring.

This year I went to the Top of the Rock (the top of the Rockefeller Center skyscraper) to admire the New York City skyline at night. You can see the Empire State building on the far left. It was a cool experience!

And here is a street view of the Empire State Building illuminated with holiday lights at the corner of Fifth Avenue and 45th Street.

I also went to visit Times Square which sparkles with holiday glitter.

Here is a shot of a skyscraper all lit up near Bryant Park.

This is one of Macy's holiday window displays--so much fun to look at as they are colorful and animated!

The best for last! Our kitty cat Allie under our Christmas tree. She is truly a gift! Wishing you and yours Happy Holidays and a great 2018! xo
